Hello friend,
Last Tuesday, we discussed the topic "What was your first programming language?" and solved CSS Battle No. 14. On Friday we continued working on listd, focusing on clickable timestamps in video descriptions and integrating the YouTube Embed API.
I have a busy week, so no stream today, but I will continue to work on listd on Friday.
This week’s challenge is to re-create the discord layout.
I know this will be a daunting task for some, so if this seems like a lot but you’d still like to participate, feel free to only focus on a single piece of the layout like the 3 column overview, the server selection bar, the User info box or the channel selection column etc.
All the details are here including a screenshot of the UI you should re-create and all of the colors / icons you will need.
To submit your solution, send a screenshot in discord of your final result and a link to a github repo / codepen / codesandbox etc.. This will potentially be a lot of code, so avoid sending the code directly in discord.
This week we will be discussing: What is the stack of your current project? What frameworks / libraries do you use for frontend / backend? What libraries do you use for styling / components? Do you use any sort of style guide tool like storybook? Do you use any tools / services to collaborate with designers? What libraries / frameworks do you use for testing? Do you use code style tools like eslint or prettier? If you’re working on a full stack app, what database library / technology are you using? If your app is in production, are you using any services for error logging or analytics? If you are building a web API, do you use any tools / frameworks for generating documentation or server contracts?
Join the discord to discuss with us.
That’s all for now! See you on discord.
