Hello friend,
If you’re reading this from dark mode in the iOS gmail app… great! I did some debugging this morning to work out the styles.
You might be wondering were some of the VODs are… they are now spread across the "Live" section of the main YouTube channel and the archive channel. If you can’t find a VOD, be sure to check both places. You can also check the coding garden videos page that combines all videos, vods and archives in one place.
On Tuesday, we worked on deploying the Next.js Travel Log. We deployed the app to Vercel and the database to MongoDB Atlas. We also locked down the API by API key and rate limiter. View the code here.
On Wednedsay, we played Clash of Code and solved a few Code Katas. It was quite fun to look at viewers solutions in OCaml, Rust, Python, Java and C++.
Friday morning, I published a summary of last week’s work on listd.
Friday afternoon, we worked on listd. We closed some github issues, upgraded dependencies and added an Entity Relationship Diagram that syncs with the prisma schema.
On Tuesday we’ll be working on the Next.js travel log again. I’m hoping to wrap this project up so I can record a more formal tutorial with the code I’ve written.
On Wednesday I’ll be answering all of your questions for a CODE Q&A.
On Friday we’ll be working on listd. I plan to refactor some of the backend hooks and finish up the user onboarding flow.
That’s all for now. See you in the chat.
